Decoding Merroir, One Shell at a Time

Cin Cin welcomes Patrick McMurray, one of the world’s foremost authorities on oysters, for an intimate evening of Champagne and oysters.

 

A two-time World Champion Oyster Shucker, Guinness World Record holder, and author of The Oyster Companion: A Field Guide, Patrick speaks about oysters as expressions of place, water, and story.

 

The evening begins with an exploration of the oyster, followed by a guided tasting of varieties from the East Coast, West Coast, and further afield.

 

Champagne and oysters have long been considered one of the world’s most harmonious and enduring culinary pairings. A carefully selected Champagne, luminous and precise, accompanies the tasting.

 

The experience culminates with an Irish oyster and a dram of Irish whiskey, a pairing that has intrigued and divided palates for centuries. Guests are invited to draw their own conclusions.

 

A light seafood spread will be served following the tasting.
